You know how to teach Pilates. You see clients with back pain, ageing bodies, post-rehab needs, athletic goals. But do you have a CLINICAL FRAMEWORK to reason through each case — before you choose a single exercise?
DR. JUAN CASTELLANO, PhD, PT (Spain) brings to Riga a new evidence-based framework for healthcare and human performance. The Series is held alongside the Preventive Health Festival 2026, where Dr. Castellano is a featured international speaker.
This is not another exercise workshop. This is where Pilates meets clinical reasoning.
The scientific and clinical foundations of Clinical Pilates: from traditional Pilates to evidence-informed practice; movement and exercise as therapeutic stimuli; biological adaptation, load and dosage; clinical reasoning and assessment principles — with practical demonstrations and clinical examples.
Conference presentation "Clinical Pilates: A New Approach in Medicine" — the evolving role of Clinical Pilates in preventive health, rehabilitation and exercise medicine. Festival registration is separate.
From assessment to exercise prescription: translating therapeutic goals into individualized programmes; exercise selection by desired biological adaptation; load, progressions and regressions; case-based applications.
Applying exercise science to Clinical Pilates practice: strength, mobility and functional capacity across the lifespan; building physical resilience; injury prevention and performance; practical programming strategies.
Both training days combine small props (cords, straps and other assistive aids), rehabilitation aids used in patient recovery, mat work — including Dr. Castellano's specially developed adaptation exercise technique on the mat — and large Pilates equipment, including Reformer with Box, adapted to each client's needs and the injury rehabilitation process.
